The highlight of this design is the colorful iron screen at the entrance, which uses vivid and lively patches of color to create a sense of fun and playfulness. The screen adds a touch of elegance to the space and becomes a focal point with its different hues under the sunlight.
The living room features a unique lighting design, with two circuits of different wattage and brightness. One of the circuits is connected to light bulbs that create the appearance of the Big Dipper, symbolizing auspiciousness and serving as a blessing for the owner and his family.
The TV stand counter is adorned with flower tiles, adding a layered visual effect with their distinctive design. The open kitchen utilizes iron pieces to support the logs table, replacing the traditional dining table and creating a steady feeling. This contrast with the colorful screen adds an element of intrigue to the space.
The design also pays attention to functionality and convenience. The living room ceiling can be switched between a "starry sky" and the "Big Dipper" concept. The coffee table features characteristic ceramic on both sides, echoing the TV countertop. The living room open bookcase uses a blue wall instead of wood grain as the backboard, reducing visual pressure.
The hallway is decorated with wood, creating a complete and continuous elevation while concealing the storeroom door and electrical box. The dining table wall is painted with blackboard oil paints, serving as a fun message board and a creative space for children.
The design project, which started in April 2019 and finished in June 2019, is located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The simplistic space, warm color tone, and thoughtful use of building materials create an aesthetic experience that seamlessly blends metropolitan and vacation vibes.
This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2020, recognized for its well-designed, practical, and innovative characteristics that meet professional and industrial requirements. The integration of industry best practices and competent technical features contribute to a better world and provide fulfillment and positive feelings.
